Gunda (1998)

Gunda is a 1998 epic movie directed by the legendary Kanti Shah, starring Mithun Chakraborty, Mukesh Rishi and Shakti Kapoor.It was produced by Anil Shah, written by Bashir Babbar, and the musical score was provided by Anand Raj Anand.On its release in 1998, the film had to be withdrawn from theaters due to complaints received by the Central Board of Film Certification from college girls who were appalled by the excessive violence, sex and obscenity in the film.The film had earlier been rejected by the Central Board for Film Certification due to use of filthy language and obscenity, it was later passed with an A certificate after the film makers made changes to the film.

Shankar a typical “Social Outcast” on the account of his dadagiri decides to lead a peaceful life with no violence and crime. But the wickedness in the society never allows his aspirations to get fulfilled. So he uses his “dadagiri” for the benefit of humanity. The wicked didn’t liked that and he develops hostility with them which ultimately leads to rape of his sister and murder of his father an honest police constable. Will shankae be able defeat the evil and make goodness win over them? In the unique style of KANTI SHAH’s direction and poetic script watch out for the answer…..
